Questions

Thinking about flying?

Here are the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, just ask.

All frequently asked questions
Do I need any experience to start?

None at all. Your discovery flight is your first lesson. Your instructor explains everything on the ground first, then helps you fly.

How long does it take to get a private pilot license?

The FAA minimum is 40 flight hours, and most students need 60 to 75. Flying two or three times a week is the fastest and most affordable way to finish.

How old do I need to be?

You can start lessons at any age. You can fly solo at 16, earn a Private Pilot certificate at 17 and a Commercial certificate at 18.

Where are you located?

We fly from Northeast Philadelphia Airport (KPNE) at 9800 Ashton Rd, Hangar A, Philadelphia, PA 19114.
